Summertime Ribs When It's Snowing Outside

Last night we had ribs for dinner. While they were not David's slow-cooked ribs that he cooks on his smoker in the summertime, they were pretty delicious! I am always looking for a good crock-pot recipe. My mom recently mailed me a magazine with different recipes for your slow cooker. This one is a keeper:

2 racks pork baby back ribs (about 1-1/2 pounds)...(we did less than this since it was just the 2 of us)
1-1/2 teaspoon pepper
2-1/2 cups barbecue sauce
3/4 cup cherry preserves
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 garlic clove

...cut the ribs into serving pieces, sprinkle with pepper. Place in slow cooker. Combine remaining ingredients; pour over meat. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until meat is tender. Serve with sauce.

*The ribs were falling on the bone and oh so tender! David was a big fan and they were super easy to cook this way. You really don't even need the cherry preserves...bbq sauce alone would be great!

David's plate served with hot potato salad and baked beans.

We decided to try some baby food again with Owen. (Last time he was not a fan). But this time he ate an entire jar of pears!

Look at that wonderful little mess!

...and I mentioned it was snowing outside. This was the snow we woke up to this morning:

We recently filled our bird feeders, the birds were happy to have food.

And we were happy to watch the birds

....especially Tucker : )
