I eased back in our room and quietly woke David and whispered I think I am pregnant. His face smiled back at me and we looked down at Owen sleeping soundly. How sweet that moment was and how sweet our God is.
David was quick to plug in the dates on his pregnancy wheel and I was 4 weeks 4 days on the day I found out. We shared the news with my mom the next day, appropriately on Mother's Day.
That year was not an easy one, at times I questioned myself, my body, if God would let me be a mom again, if I would ever get to feel a baby move inside me again. I cried when it didn't happen and it seemed everyone around me was pregnant. To be honest, at times I was really frustrated with God. But it taught me a great lesson in patience and giving over to God something I really wanted. Letting go of control and trusting in His timing and His perfect plan.
In that one week, my Pop was welcomed into Heaven and God sent us a precious gift. What sweet timing. One that I always want to remember. I couldn't imagine a better mother's day gift.
