new nephew

David's sister, Julie delivered our first nephew February 4, 2014 at 11:47 a.m.

Jacob Irby Bowen (Jake) weighed 9 pounds 11 ounces and was 21 inches long.

From what I hear, his sisters can't get enough of him

We can't wait to meet him and introduce him to his buddy Collin.

Congrats to Julie and Andy on such a handsome baby boy!

cousins

I am still playing catch up on the blog of all the fun we got into while in Greenville over the past 2 weeks. The last Saturday we were there, we thought it would be fun to get some pictures of Owen and his cousins.

Just imagine trying to get a 4 year old, 19 month old and 7 month old to sit still for a picture:

I think David actually got some pretty good shots.

This one was all Owen. He saw the bottle, and was convinced Anna needed a sip.

She didn't...so we were back to picture taking.

It was that magical hour at the end of the day when the sun is going down and you have the perfect light for pictures.

We actually got up from eating dinner after only a couple of bites to run outside to take pictures while the light was right.

I am so glad we did though, letting David capture this shot of Anna's beautiful blue eyes.

Now, it wasn't all perfect...

we had our fair share of bloopers.

and bubbles.

But end the end, I think we came away with some pretty precious images.

falling into fall

A few weeks ago my dad came up for a couple of days to play with me, Owen, and Cooper while David was interviewing. We are so lucky to live so close to a beautiful mountain with quite the view.

especially when the leaves or this pretty

Monte Sano has not only has great views, but hiking trails, cabins and a playground that Owen LOVED.

Coop dog was happy to tag along on this excursion, but unfortunately we missed a pic of him.

The next week, we joined some friend and strolled 5 babies along this beautiful hidden trail...

Our friend Jennifer captured these beautiful images while we were there.

I love them. Love the above shot, I think it is quite creative. Owen loves his Mama.

This past weekend we headed home again to get together with David's family. All the Johnsons and the Grants gathered to celebrate family over lots of good food. Our friend, Caroline Bobo's turnip green soup was quite the hit of the evening! Thanks Caroline for sharing the recipe! We didn't get any pics from the evening, but sometimes its more important to just enjoy family than try to capture it all on film. So enjoy we did!

Sunday was baby Anna's baby dedication. We were so happy to be there for this special day.
