I clearly have been watching too much Daniel Tiger on PBS when I begin to refer to Valentine's Day as love day : ) But it just seems more fitting this year.
Granddaddy sent love in the form of pizza...much appreciated to this pregnant mama.
Owen was super excited about his Valentine's party at school. Note all the handmade crafty valentines he received. I bought a box of pre-made valentines at the store and he was just as happy.
We went out for dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant Friday before Valentine's and we splurged on a red velvet cupcake for a special treat for this guy.
You know, Valentine's Day looks different during different seasons of life. We didn't even attempt to go out. We had no desire to. David had worked a week of nights (thankfully the last one of those!) and a night at home was what we wanted. The kids went to bed. We fired up the grill and had a peaceful dinner alone. It was perfect.
David grilled filets and made a blue cheese butter and I whipped up some twice baked potatoes and asparagus.
We finished with Pioneer Woman's lava cakes. David made them entirely on his own. They are delicious.
