Valentine's Day

"What did we do for Valentine's Day?" you ask...well we started out our day visiting with friends. Brittany made Sam and Owen these adorable shirts. How creative is she? Glad she is my friend. She also made a tray of cookies and treats for us on a tray she cricketed...how nice! The girl can bake...her kitchen was covered from head to toe with cookies, cupcakes and other sweet treats.

(Disclaimer: our big Nikon camera has taken a vacation to be cleaned and worked on...so we will be using our back-up point and shoot camera until it returns)

So I attempted to set up a nice romantic dinner for the two of us. Owen was going to be in bed sleeping and David and I were going to get to have a quiet dinner to talk and enjoy each other....(are you laughing yet...you know that didn't happen!) So about 10 minutes into dinner, Owen could not take it any longer and decided he NEEDED to join us. Who can blame him, he wound up in his high chair and had some pear baby food while we finished our dinner. 

It was fun to get the fine china out, crystal, tablecloth from Nanny. We had zucchini carbonara and I made a heart-shaped strawberry cake. 

I think my favorite part of Valentine's Day was having David cook with me in the kitchen. We don't get to cook together as much as we used to, so it really was fun being together doing something we both enjoy!
