this little boy

This little boy is really growing up before our eyes.

It really seems like yesterday he was curled up in my arms as I rocked him to sleep, and now when I look at him and listen to him, he seems so old. I keep thinking about how things are going to change soon. For 3 years our days and nights have revolved around each other. We are big buddies. He is a mama's boy. There are big changes ahead.

He hasn't felt well this week. There have been lots of back rubs, holding, snuggling and lego playing…hours and hours of building police stations, fire stations, and yogurt shops…can you see his interests?

We have read books, played doctor, dressed as super heroes and knights.

We are all super excited to welcome his brother into our family and so grateful for that blessing that will change our family and make the love we all share grow even bigger. I pray everyday for those boys to  have a good friendship. Owen will be a great big brother and a big help, but it will be a change.

I think when I was sitting on the bathroom floor with him Saturday while he was sick, I remember thinking how is this going to go with 2? But I suppose we will figure it out and God will continue to give grace along the way. I think that's what motherhood is about. Talking to God throughout your day, when you need patience, when you need grace, when you need guidance…when you need God, which is always. 

This week has been a great reminder of that.
