State Fair of Texas

Sunday we headed north to Dallas for the State Fair of Texas.

It is true, everything is bigger in Texas and it definitely holds true with the fair.

Apparently the fair broke records this year with fairgoers spending $37,186,519 on food and amusement rides alone.

The Bobos let us tag along for their last full day in Texas. And we tried out a few fair favorites: fried peanut butter and jelly and fried Nutella.

Owen is a fan of all things peanut butter and jelly.

We got to see Big Tex

and even a professional pumpkin carver.

Owen rode the carousel. Mama tried to ride with him but was quickly turned away because she was pregnant...who knew you you couldn't ride a carousel if you were expecting?

We tried out the petting zoo.

It was pretty funny, none of the animals wanted to eat.

There were so many people there that I think all the animals were stuffed at this point.

We stopped by a huge butter sculpture

and called it a day. That was one tuckered out little boy!

It was definitely a Texas size weekend.
