first few days

My dad made the drive from Alabama and arrived Sunday morning.

It was really nice having some extra sets of hands around the house.

Granddaddy took Owen to the zoo, Children's museum, Dr. Pepper Museum and river area. He was even sure to give Cooper dog some extra TLC with long walks and a trip to the lake.

Meme hasn't quit working since she got here... taking care of Owen, doing laundry, grocery shopping, making sure I am well hydrated and playing lots of Legos with big brother while I rest and nurse this sweet baby. Although, she promises none of it is work, it's what she wants to be doing ; )

David has been a great Daddy. He jumps right in and is a pro by now.

Collin's first bath at home.

Collin is such a different baby than his brother was. The biggest factor being that he nurses well. This was such a huge hurdle with Owen. We really struggled, so for that part to be easy…it's just a huge blessing and I recognize it, because I know how hard it could be.

We went up to the clinic Tuesday, for Collin's first doctor visit. He weighed 8 lb 6 oz when he was born and was 8 lb 1 oz when we left the hospital. When we went for his first doctor visit he was 8 lb    4 oz, I couldn't believe he was almost back to birth weight. I dreaded and feared those scales with Owen, he struggled to gain weight (I think he weight 8 lb 1 oz when he was 4 weeks old)…so this is just night and day. Collin spends his days nursing and sleeping, it just amazes me. I know this will change but it has been such a sweet time and makes for an easier transition.

While we were at the clinic, we had to make a special visit to see Dr. Hardin.

He was my doctor throughout this pregnancy and took wonderful care of me and Collin. He was very encouraging and supportive of everything I wanted. He was patient and kind and took time to pray with me and for Collin's delivery. He had to go out of town, which he had not planned for and hated to miss Collin's birth…but everything turned out well. He was so happy that we had a great labor and delivery and proud of how I did as well.
