craft fair and tree decorating

Last weekend we visited homestead craft fair.
It was amazing to see the items that people make with their hands, from handwoven towels and blankets, pottery, boats, blacksmithing, woodworking. Truly incredible skills.

Owen enjoyed watching the craftsmen work and petting some of the animals.

Before Meme and Dock went home, we went ahead and got our Christmas tree so we could enjoy a little bit of Christmas while they were still here.
We were all amazed at how interested and consumed Owen was in decorating the tree. He REALLY  got into it. He picked out and hung ornaments for about 45 minutes...that is a long time for a toddler...or any guy for that matter! He carefully placed and lined all his ornaments near the bottom of the tree.

Even now that the tree has been decorated for a couple of days, he will ask, "Mama, wanna decorate tree?" And he does...he takes some off and puts them somewhere else on the tree.

I have a feeling, it is really going to be a fun Christmas!

  1. I had such a great time on my nice long visit and was so excited to celebrate Thanksgiving and also start off the Christmas season. Loved the huge tree! Owen did a great job putting the hooks on the ornaments and hanging them on the tree. It's Christmas time! Sending lots of hugs. Meme loves you.

  2. What do you use to 'edit' your pictures making the collages? I love all your blogs- I know I say that all the time you probably don't believe me ;-) I bet y'all will have so much fun this Christmas with Owen, and I can't wait to read about it and see your pictures! Also, loved your thanksgiving post, beautiful table, you really are Martha part 2!!

    1. HI! I use Picmonkey. It is free and is easy to use. Just google it and then you upload the pics you want to use and can make a collage and save them to your computer. You are really kind. I really enjoy the blog. It may be kind of silly sometimes, but I am so glad to have the pictures and stories documented and I have a great scrapbook (using Blurb) at the end of the year. I am by far not Martha! I need to take a picture of what my house looks like right now! You would not say that ; )
