ten on tuesday

1. Owen really does well on routine. He was all out of sorts last week and we were convinced he had become an entirely different child. After getting back on schedule, he is sleeping all night in his bed and taking 3 hour naps...and is HAPPY. So thankful our sweet boy returned to us.

2. Our little garden has produced quite of few cucumbers so I decided to try this recipe. The recipe is for refrigerator pickles...so no actual canning was involved. We had enough pickles for two mason jars and they really are delicious.

3. Gammy and Papa celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary August 31! What a blessing it is share 60 years of marriage and a testament to a God honoring covenant.

4. We finally harvested our first tomato. Only took until September. Apparently the Heatmaster variety worked best for us. We currently have about 8 little green ones still cooking on the vines.

5. We broke down and purchased cable last week. We decided it wouldn't really seem like football season without football in the background on Saturdays in the fall.

6. One of our favorite football foods is this buffalo chicken pizza. Try it if you want something different beside the typical burgers and hotdogs.

7. I am loving my new hand weaved towel that I got from Homestead Heritage. I can't imagine having the skills to weave it. Not only is it beautiful, it really is a good towel.

8. I think I love children's book as much or more than Owen. This love no doubt was derived from Gammy and my mom. We love the stories and the artwork.  Owen is really getting into some of the longer stories besides his boardbooks and he loves for anyone to read the stories to him. One of our new favorites is The Lion and the Mouse.

9. On that note we are going to visit the library tomorrow and see how Owen does for storytime and maybe check out a couple of books for the week.

10. Last but certainly not least, Owen and I are headed to College Station to visit with some of our favorite people this week. I don't know who is more excited...me or Owen.
