I turned 30 last week. The day was filled with a package and cards in the mail,
flowers and some Noonday jewelry from my boys (David said Owen insisted on the pink ones for me)
cookie cake and dinner with our life group
singing and candle blowing before bedtime.
And then the following night, a dinner out with the love of my life.
A friend of mine who just turned 30 reminded me that the 20's did include some big things. I forget about them sometime because I am so involved with my present day to day and the little ones that need me so much right now. This past decade included marriage to my high school sweetheart, graduating from Auburn University, a masters degree from Montevallo, being newlyweds in Birmingham, gaining Cooper dog as our first baby, a move to Huntsville, the birth of our first son Owen, a move to Texas for residency and the birth of our second son Collin.
That's a lot of life in 10 years. Makes me wonder what the next 10 will look like. But y'all, can I just tell you I am really looking forward to it. We are in the home stretch of residency and excited about settling down and putting down roots in our new community in Alabama. I get to be a mama to two little boys that hold my heart and bring me so much joy. And I can honestly say I am married to my best friend. I love that we have been on this journey together and we have a greater appreciation for each other with every new day. Cheers to 30!
