finding our new normal

So we are still alive. We are finding our routine and figuring it out and taking it one day at a time.
The Wednesday after my mom left, Owen woke up at 2:30 in the morning crying and was up until 5:30. Not the child we thought we would be up with. Falling asleep on the couch that day was a big red flag that something wasn't right. Turned out the guy had a pretty nice ear infection. We got some antibiotics to knock that on out. But there were a few hours that day that I quickly saw being a mama to 2 little boys that need you at the same time can be a challenge. We were all very happy to see Daddy walk in that night.

Collin spends his days nursing and napping. He naps in his bouncy seat and sleeps in his swing at night. I am sure we should move to the crib at some point, but hard to change something that is currently working.

He likes to be swaddled. He gets a little fussy around 10 at night and we work through that for a couple of hours. It seems I don't "go to bed" (which is all relative) until about 1, then up around 3:30 to nurse and then for the day at 7 when Owen gets up.

This is what a lot of my day looks like:

And this is what I find when I go to bed :

David just started medicine at Providence which means he wakes up about 4:30 a.m. and gets home about 7 at night this week. Long days for everyone.

Owen had a cold (which led to the ear infection), then he gave it to me. That has been one of the biggest challenges lately…trying to not spread germs to Collin. I realize there is only so much you can do, but Daddy has seen way too many sick babies for us to not want to be one of them.

But little man seems to be doing just fine. Growing and even cracking a few smiles at us lately. We love him to pieces.

…and if you followed that rambling blog post that I am sure is full of typos, you are doing well!
