Nashville at Christmastime

Owen and I just got back from a mini-vacation in Nashville. My dad took us for a few nights to see the Christmas decorations a the Opryland Hotel and just enjoy this special time of year together.

Seeing the Opryland Hotel during Christmastime truly is a magical experience. The hotel is huge....we spent hours there just walking around taking in all the sights, beautiful flowers and of course the lights.

Owen even found a few cookies "cookoo" to eat along the way.

At least he is beginning to say "ta-u"...thank you now.

We enjoyed a boat ride in the Delta section of the hotel.

and we even saw Santa!

Owen wasn't so sure about sitting in his lap, so Mama's lap did the job.

That night we went and saw Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland. It is a drive through Christmas light display that is synchronized to Christmas music on this radio station.

Pretty fun stuff. The next day we hit up The Loveless Cafe for breakfast. Later that afternoon we made one more swing through the Opryland hotel for dinner and a little more sightseeing.

Owen even had his first chocolate milkshake...can't imagine who knew he needed chocolate?

Grandaddy knew it would be a hit.

We also ran into Shrek

and Puss in Boots.

It was an even different experience seeing the hotel at night.

But I think may favorite may have been the Nativity outside.

Breathtaking...

So special sharing the season of Christ's birth with family and teaching Owen about the true meaning of Christmas.

Thanks for the trip Grandaddy!
