We had a very special Thanksgiving this year. It was the first year we were able to host both of our families in our home. I wanted the day to be special and enjoyed preparing Grandmama's recipes and decorating the tables.

We had a surprise that morning. When David woke up and turned on the oven. It read an error message and would not heat up. We panicked for a minute but after a call to Uncle Ben, he told us to flip the breaker to the oven and reset it. All worked after that. We joked that this was the year Uncle Ben saved Thanksgiving.
We pulled out the tee pee that Nana made and Owen was quick to put on his Indian gear from school.
We were overjoyed that Grandmama was able to join us!
The kids had fun with Uncle Ben and he is always a huge help to all of us.
Something I have always dreamed of. Having my grandmother...the one who taught me how to make cornbread, and dressing and sweet potato casserole...at my table for a Thanksgiving meal.
I tried to do it like she would have. Pulling out he china and the crystal and plenty of food to go along with it.
Meme made her chocolate pies, Ben made pecan pie and Nana made her sweet potato pies. All were well loved.
It really was a good night. Loved having family in our home. Will always be a Thanksgiving I will treasure.
