Moving Day

Saturday was moving day! David picked up the U-haul Saturday morning at 7:00. We had 2 movers come and help pack the truck which was very nice, considering I am not too much help when it comes to loading boxes : ) It rained for a couple of hours that morning, but the rain cleared out while the movers were there. David's sweet parents drove all the way to Birmingham to help us clean the house. We weren't expecting them, but they insisted on coming to help....which was such a blessing!! They came, brought snacks, picked up lunch for us and then cleaned our house for us. They are such hard workers...you definitely know where David gets his amazing work ethic from. Thank you so much for your help and time. We owe you a good meal when you come to visit in Huntsville!!

We got to Huntsville about 1:30 and had 2 guys from 2 men and a truck help us unload the furniture and boxes. They were great, and I was glad David and Ty didn't have to unload the whole truck. We spent the rest of the weekend deciding where to put furniture and unpacking.

(This is a picture of Cooper and his best friend, George. George is Ty and Brittany's lab. We are fortunate enough to live back to back with these wonderful friends. Cooper was so happy to finally be settled...think the move was tougher on him than anyone : )

My sweet mom was here through the entire process. She came to b'ham last Thursday to help me finish packing, she helped us move, and then get some things settled. She kept her eye on my the whole time...telling me not to lift, pick up or over-do myself. She was just great overall support. Here, David and her are trying to take apart the box-springs that go to the full size bed. We needed this bed for the guest room upstairs. The mattress fit easily, but they struggled to get the box springs up the stairs. After a little surgery on the box springs, the landlord coming to help, some hammering, pulling, and tugging...we finally got it up there.

It was a busy weekend, but we are getting settled. Still much to do and much to unpack...but we will get there. Nice that I have all summer to nest : ) And by the way, the baby bed has been put together. Very excited about finally being about to work on the nursery. Will post pics of the house when we get everything settled.
