soaking in the plains

So, as I mentioned we went to Auburn this past weekend. We had one main goal: soak in as much of Auburn as we possibly could. Because let's face it, it will most likely be a while before we are back on the plains.

So what does soaking in Auburn look like?

Seeing where Mama spent lots of time learning to be a speech-pathologist/amazing stay at home mom

with one of our favorite families.

 Owen with his buddies, Blake and Kate...

We hit up some of our favorite restaurants like Amersterdams

We made sure Owen got a taste of the famous Toomer's lemonade.

Daddy even shared his chocolate sundae.

 The Heisman statues of Cam Newton, Bo Jackson and Pat Sullivan were also enveiled this weekend.

 But our original reason for making one more trip to Auburn

was a retirement luncheon for this special man.

Dr. Wit was one of David's favorite professors and mentors at Auburn throughout his 4 years in COSAM (College of Science and Mathematics).

 He has been very influential in David's path to medicine. He is a large part of the reason we will have a doctor in the family in the upcoming month.

We were happy to celebrate the impact he has had on so many students in COSAM. Ty even made him a potato gun to commemorate this special occasion. It was a special day, a special weekend and we definitely felt we soaked in the plains.
