trip to the zoo

One highlight of living in Waco is having a great zoo right here in town. We had heard wonderful things about Cameron Park Zoo and thought having friends in town was the perfect opportunity to see what it was all about.

Let us share with you some of our favorite animals:

White-handed Gibbons

Bald Eagle, squirrel monkey and turkeys

Our radio flyer was the perfect form of transportation. The boys could hop out easily to see the animals but by the second half of the zoo they enjoyed being pulled around.

The giraffes were one of our very favorite animals we saw today, beautiful creatures God made.

we can't forget the rhinos, elephants, and lions:

and the meerkats were too cute.

I am pretty sure the mamas

 and the daddies

may have had just as much fun as the boys did.

 We were all really impressed with the zoo. The zoo itself was beautiful, green, clean and very kid friendly. Lots of different animals to see, shady spots, play areas for the kids...and just the right size.  Owen and I went ahead and got a year membership, so we can go anytime.

We were happy David and Ty could come along before they start work on Monday.
It really was the perfect time for a trip to the zoo.
